The Maple is a Perfect Little House

BC & J is known for our quality custom architecture and innovative approach to meet a homeowner’s needs through planning and design. We have worked with customers and builders to create beautiful homes such as the Rockaway Beach House and Olympic View House. In order to make dream homes accessible to more people we created the Perfect Little House Company. Now, plans designed by award winning architect Peter Brachvogel, AIA and his partner, Stella Carosso, are available to give you access to your dream home.

With over 30 Perfect Little House designs, you will find a plan to embrace your tastes and lifestyle. The homes in the Perfect Little House line are thoughtfully designed for intimate and purposeful living experience. You can also express your personal style and individuality by customizing a plan.

Perfect Little House Company designs were born out of years of listening to our clients. Understanding how to integrate our clients voice into a home design allowed us to create a series of designs focused on what is important to your lifestyle. A Small plan does not mean you have to give up features. Perfect Little House plans emphasize comfort and quality of design over excessive square footage. Our beautiful homes are right at home in a forest, private beachfront, or a traditional neighborhood.

The Maple is a 2013 Howie Award winner for Best Kitchen.

We were recognized by the readers of with two Howie Awards. The Maple won Best Kitchen for the multifunction island, window wall, open ceiling, built-in dining alcove, and strong sightline to the great room.  The Willow won Best Small House Plan for built-in seating, porches, and well-oriented windows that make a compact footprint feel larger than it is.

Recently, we have been able to watch as a Perfect Little House grew from plans to a structure in our own community.

A local couple looking to downsize without sacrificing their living experience decided The Maple was a perfect choice.

This beautifully designed Maple separates the sleeping quarters from the rooms with the most daylight activity with a dramatic entry. The house also features a large deck, embraced on two sides by the house’s structure to increase privacy. Oversized schoolhouse windows create a visual link with the outdoors, making the house feel larger than it is.

The Maple is one of the many unique plans BC&J offers through the Perfect Little House website.

South Beach House Under Construction

South Beach

Construction is underway on a BC&J house on the South Beach of Bainbridge Island.

When completed, this house will be 4,200 square feet with a 700 square foot studio above a two care garage.

The second floor of the two buildings are bridged by a sky terrace overlooking the waterfront. The stone clad intersection between the two buildings houses the laundry room and guest house below the sky terrace.

The stair core and master bedroom with a deck occupy the main tower, massing the house to the south.

Facing the waterfront on the first floor is a covered loggia for outdoor dining. Upstairs are decks for two additional bedrooms.

Completion is scheduled for early 2014.
